Democracy Drinks is our monthly gathering where people come together to connect with each other and chat about life and whatever issues are facing their community.

The goal is to connect people with each other and to reconnect friends who have lost touch.

Thanks to our amazing volunteers and community partners, Democracy Drinks events are popping up around the state.

If you want to host a Democracy Drinks in your area, we’d love to help! Pick a day, time, and location, and then just contact us and we’ll create a Mobilize event link so that you can start texting and inviting people!

Some helpful tips to get you started:

  • Check local calendars for conflicting events. It’s impossible to please everyone, but maybe avoid OU football game days if you’re in Norman, for example.
  • Post on social media and send it to friends. Word of mouth is everything here. (Tag @letsfixthisok so we can share it, too!)
  • Make it interactive. Plan a short program (5–10 minutes), just enough to get people talking about a subject, whether it’s education, the economy, immigration, healthcare, voting, or anything else!
