Next Election: NOVEMBER 3, 2026

The November 3 election is a general election and is open to all registered voters from all political parties and Independents. Ballots will contain many races, including:

  • Statewide offices (e.g. Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, State Superintendent, and others)

  • Federal offices (e.g. U.S. Senate, all five Congressional seats)

  • State legislative offices (i.e. Oklahoma State Senate and State House of Representatives)

  • County offices (e.g. County Commissioners, District Attorney, County Assessors, County Treasurers, etc.)

  • Judicial offices (certain district and state court judges and justices)

  • State questions

    • SQ 845 - would amend the state constitution to make changes to the voter-created Judicial Nominating Committee by removing safeguards that limit political partisan influence. Read the OK Policy Factsheet on SQ845.

    • SQ 847 - would amend the state constitution to lower property taxes for some homeowners, but in doing so would cause a funding shortfall for many county and local governments. Read the OK Policy Factsheet on SQ847.

You can find information about the duties of the offices and the state questions that will be on the ballot below. More information will be added as it becomes available as we approach the election.

Descriptions of what elected officials actually do

WHEN, WHERE, AND HOW TO VOTE

  • Vote by Mail. All registered Oklahoma voters can vote by mail (aka vote absentee) if they choose to—an excuse is not required.

    • Absentee ballots must be requested by October 19th and returned to the election board by November 2nd (if returning in person) or by November 3rd (if returning by mail. Oklahoma does not use dedicated ballot dropboxes.

    • Absentee ballots must be notarized before being returned. If returning via mail, the envelope requires two (2) first-class stamps.

    • You can request an absentee ballot online using the state’s OK Voter Portal.

  • Vote Early in-person. All registered Oklahoma voters can vote in-person during Early Voting at their county election board (or other approved early voting locations in their county.) You can find more information about Early Voting on the State Election Board website.

    • Early voting will be available:

      • Wednesday, October 28th from 8:00am - 6:00pm

      • Thursday, October 29th from 8:00am - 6:00pm

      • Friday, October 30th from 8:00am - 6:00pm

      • Saturday, October 31st from 8:00am - 2:00pm

  • Vote on Election Day. All registered Oklahoma voters can vote in-person on Election Day at their assigned polling location.

    • Polls will be open statewide from 7:00am - 7:00pm.

    • You must show a valid, state-issued photo I.D. in order to vote.

    • Find your polling place and view your sample ballot using the state’s OK Voter Portal.
